A Platinum Halo Centre in progress, delivered in genuine partnership with Dr Edna Adan University Hospital and Dr Edna Adan Ismail, supporting IV Cannulation, IV Line and venepuncture training for clinicians and students across Somaliland (Horn of Africa).

The story so far

This programme has been designed to international clinical standards, and we are committed to working in genuine partnership with your team, adapting content over time to reflect the realities and priorities of healthcare delivery in Somaliland. Dr Edna Adan Ismail has now approved Phase 2.

Phase 2 uses the same model to reach all of the clinicians, including students, and to extend delivery out into Somaliland. Sarah will visit in early summer so we can accelerate the centre to become a Platinum Halo Centre. We know it can be, from what we have seen of the leadership here, and we are thrilled to come over, with Sarah looking forward to being Dr Edna's guest.

What this gives you

What you have access to here is a complete, standalone training programme, enhanced with LIVE sessions to support your learning journey. As our partnership develops, we will transition those live elements into flexible, asynchronous online content, including specialist modules on paediatric and neonatal blood taking, alongside language adaptations tailored to your context. This development work is subject to funding, and we are actively working to secure that.
