Tripartite Signed Pasteur Institute

Partnering to progress at pace

Stempath, the Pasteur Institute, Bangui (IPB) and the Republic of South Africa have signed a groundbreaking tripartite agreement to offer critical diagnostic services with world class coud software and crucial clinical training across the region for blood taking and Intravenous access.

"This agreement represents more than just a training program for us - it's a commitment to transforming healthcare delivery in some of the world's most challenging environments," says Sarah Phillips, CEO of VeinTrain.

"By bringing together government bodies, research institutions, and innovative solutions focussed companies, we're creating a sustainable model for healthcare and workforce development where it is needed most"

The Learning Challenge: Critical Skills in Challenging Environments

Remote Training Reach

In remote regions of the Central African Republic and similar areas worldwide, healthcare workers face a critical challenge: they must perform critical clinical procedures like venepuncture and cannulation with limited resources and exceptionally low healthcare workforce . These procedures, despite being among the most commonly performed medical interventions, have global failure rates as high as 69% even in well-resourced settings.

"When treating patients in remote locations, healthcare workers need confidence in their clinical skills," explains Sarah Phillips.

"A failed blood draw isn't just an inconvenience – in resource-limited settings, it can mean the difference between timely diagnosis and missed treatment opportunities. Far from any help, the clinicians need to be the best at these skills possible and this is where VeinTrain excels"

Why Training Matters: Impact on Global Health

  • High risk procedures with globally high failure rates
  • Accurate Sampling is crucial for research and diagnostics.
  • Minimal support when things get tough - CHW are on their own.

Training where it's needed - Community healthcare workers (CHW)

CHW serve as the frontline of medical care in many underserved regions. Their ability to perform clinical procedures effectively impacts long stratigic public health management:

  • Disease prevalence detection through proper blood sampling
  • Chronic disease and population health management through regular monitoring
  • Public health surveillance through accurate sample collection

"COVID-19 the great revealer! and highlighted the stark health inequities globally," says Sarah Phillips

"Supporting these community healthcare workers isn't just about individual procedures – it's about strengthening entire health systems when public health emergencies arrive CAR will be in a stonger position to respond swiftly."
