Entry Level

  • Fast start training
  • VeinTrain-led delivery
  • Supported VeinTrain route

At VeinTrain, we believe training is just the beginning. That’s why the HALO Programme was developed, a full-system approach to safeguarding patients, staff, and organisations across healthcare settings.

Whether you’re responding to a compliance concern, scaling up a service, or proactively improving quality, the HALO system is your structured, flexible pathway to competency and assurance.

Practical Safety. Proven Systems. Whole-Organisation Uplift.

What Is HALO?

HALO is built around the VeinTrain Simulator Unit, our portable pop-up arm-style vein simulation unit. It gives every learner in the programme safe, repeatable hands-on practice in venepuncture, IV cannulation and phlebotomy training. Each unit arrives with QR-linked guidance, connecting physical practice to digital support from day one.

It’s more than a course, it’s a system. We start where you are, then deliver tailored support through:

🚀 Tiered Delivery Options

💬 “We don’t just deliver training – we co-design systems that work.”

🔍 Common Issues We Help Solve

  • Outdated or unclear clinical policies
  • Ad-hoc or incomplete competency sign-off
  • Missing documentation on training, vaccines, and equipment
  • Unsafe practices such as practising on colleagues
  • Workarounds and equipment risks left unaddressed
  • HR, complaints, and litigation exposure

📊 Backed by Research and Results

📍 Virginia Study:

  • 59% injury reduction with universal precautions and training
  • Up to 89% reduction when combined with safety-engineered devices

📍 Real-world experience shows HALO leads to:

  • Safer practice
  • Better policy compliance
  • Organisational confidence

🧩 Compliance Built-In

HALO includes:

    • Skill confirmation: Competency + Knowledge Assessment

VeinTrain supports the learning, trainer pathway and implementation structure around local training. Local employer competency sign-off, clinical supervision, scope of practice and governance remain the responsibility of the organisation.

Where a current national standard or framework exists, HALO Centres should refer to the latest version. Where guidance is still developing or varies between settings, VeinTrain supports organisations to build a clear, documented pathway that reflects recognised good practice and local governance.

Optional add-ons

  • Staff management portal for HR and compliance tracking
  • Organisational diagnostics: Training Needs Analysis and Governance Support

Our three principles

In every HALO project, we ask:

  • Are your people safe?
  • Are your policies and records defensible?
  • Is your compliance trackable?

Who we work with

HALO supports NHS and ICS settings, clinical researchers, private hospitals, community services, international centres, overseas health teams, and education and training providers.

From small-scale set-ups to wider rollouts, HALO adapts to your context.
