What HALO Partners is

HALO Partners is VeinTrain's collaboration route: a way for organisations, individuals and institutions to work alongside VeinTrain rather than simply purchase from it. Partnership means combining an organisation's product, service, network or expertise with VeinTrain's training infrastructure, delivery capability and clinical credibility, so that investment reaches the people who actually need it: budget holders, trainers and clinicians on the ground.

Who HALO Partners is for

HALO Partners is open to a broad range of organisations and individuals who share an interest in improving IV cannulation, venepuncture and phlebotomy training and practice. This includes clinical organisations and NHS trusts, academic and research institutions, professional bodies and societies, industry and product partners, and international and diaspora organisations working to strengthen local training capacity.

Why organisations partner with VeinTrain

VeinTrain works through partnership because sustainable improvement in clinical training does not come from a single organisation working alone. Partners bring different things: clinical reach, product expertise, funding, local knowledge or academic rigour. VeinTrain brings a structured training methodology, delivery experience and a track record of embedding training where it is used. Working together allows both sides to achieve more than either could alone.

Collaboration and local ownership

A consistent principle across VeinTrain partnerships is local ownership. Rather than delivering training and leaving, VeinTrain partners aim to build lasting local capability, whether that is training local trainers, embedding the Structured Learning Programme within an organisation's own systems, or supporting a partner to run its own training sustainably over time.

Train the Trainer and HALO pathways

Many partnerships connect directly into VeinTrain's Train the Trainer pathway and the HALO organisational deployment model. This allows a partner organisation to move from one off training towards a more embedded, self sustaining model, supported by VeinTrain at whatever level suits the organisation's stage and resources.

The range of partnerships

VeinTrain partnerships take a number of forms, including clinical partnerships with hospitals and trusts, academic partnerships with universities and research bodies, professional and society partnerships, industry and product partnerships, and international and diaspora partnerships supporting training capacity beyond the UK.

Three ways to contribute

Partners typically contribute in one of three ways:

  • Innovation Vein: partners contributing new products, technology or approaches that improve training or clinical practice.
  • Collaboration Vein: partners contributing expertise, delivery capacity or shared programmes of work alongside VeinTrain.
  • Sponsored Vein: partners contributing funding or in-kind support that helps extend training to organisations that could not otherwise access it.

The examples below show some of the partnerships already working with VeinTrain. The details of any partnership, including scope and structure, are worked through individually with each organisation.
