The first cohort of new health care support workers trained by VeinTech, Ireland to take on the role of venepuncture.  Traditionally in Ireland this is the role of a registered nurse so James Dooley built a bespoke blend to offer an intensive course, the foundation of the programme being the .  This group had 2 further contact days, face to face, covering venepuncture and some other core skills.   

This is excellent and thorough training for GP receptionist, delivered over 3 days incorporating the VeinTraining system on day two. Delegates also benefit from a year access where delegates can ask VeinTech trainers questions and upload videos and attend LIVE online workshop. They will still learn from colleagues but can come to us too, their very own VeinTraining department at the click of a button.

Using the VeinTrain powerpoint slides including videos reduced trainer workload allowing him to get on with learner needs and bring his expertise. Below is what they have to say.  James also got a call from their project lead who commissioned the training. She was keen to share how excellent it was after receiving such positive feedback, especially their confidence to proceed toward clinical competency.  The project lead was particularly pleased that they were ready to work with patients so effectively, under supervision until they achieve competency. As a result of the success more cohorts are planned very soon. 

At Veintrain we say competency is just the beginning, so we look forward to meeting the cohort when it suits them over the year within our e-learning community they can come in and out as revision but also for new content added over the year.  This cohort will also benefit from  some LIVE online workshops.

Outcome: 

One delegate has been appointed into a new role after completing the 3 part course.  She will complete her competencies under supervision but we are hearing the supervisor is delighted with how much she already knows and can do.
