IV Summit 2021 from IVTEAM…

 I know it’s exciting to be back at these live face to face events and I was privileged to speak, but it really was a most excellent day.   The programme offered a brilliant mix of current interest areas (based on IV Team website searches).

The speakers were truly refreshing clear and inspiring, sharing how they were saving lives, lines and ££. Real doers bring research to the patient and as ever raising more quesions. The pandemic saw the Wirral try a new cannula that is saving sticks. It seems the pandemic opened the way for innovation because full PPE for every line that can be reduced by a approx 1/3 was worth a look. Now it’s staying - pass the ultrasound.

Blimey those savings now national  procurement support is in full swing but it’s not just about the cheapest.  shared how open the Organisation even after standardising equipment.Still though, a quick £100k in one hosptial that creates a lot of choice elsewhere. It’s complex stuff change and standardisation but it’s clearly getting there.
