VeinTrain FlatPack simulation vein with a cannula on its training pack

A training proposal needs to work beyond the course date. For an organisation comparing options, a useful starting point is to consider the full cost of putting the learning into practice and sustaining the agreed training arrangements.

Make the full picture visible

  • Implementation: protected learning time, rotas, equipment and access to supervised practice.
  • Training quality: the curriculum, practical rehearsal, trainer support and assessment records.
  • Continuity: the duration of materials access, updates, refresher provision and agreed support.
  • Local responsibility: who supervises, assesses and authorises practice in the workplace.

Ask for evidence and a written specification

Separate attendance figures from evidence of learning or assessed performance. Ask what each reported outcome measures, over what period, and what remains the organisation’s responsibility. Confirm inclusions and additional costs in the actual proposal. This approach does not assume that a higher or lower price guarantees better results.

Keep equipment and training roles clear

VeinTrain’s HALO partner work includes Nipro and Airglove. Nipro is a medical device manufacturer. Airglove is an air warming system for venous access, rather than a simulation product. Naming either here is not a procurement recommendation or a claim that a particular device improves training outcomes.

Agree the workplace handover

A course certificate does not replace employer or clinical organisation sign-off. Check how the programme supports local supervision, scope of practice and workplace competency assessment.

Source note: VeinTrain’s controlled AR4 procurement draft, August 2026, with the Airglove description checked against the manufacturer’s product information on 9 September 2026. This is a practical evaluation checklist, not a tender framework or quantified value claim.
