VeinTrain Honoured to attend  Buckingham Palace Royal Garden Party

VeinTrain was honoured to receive an invitation to the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, recognising our work in British innovation, export growth and safe, scalable clinical training.

Our invitation came through a nomination from the Department for Business and Trade, with valued support from Louise Stock, Jane Matty and Mandy Rait, respected International Trade Officers and long-standing advocates for SMEs reaching beyond the UK with British innovation.

This recognition reflects more than exporting success alone. It speaks to the wider movement we are building through VeinTrain - improving access to expert-led clinical training in venepuncture and cannulation, two of the most commonly performed yet too often neglected practical skills in healthcare.

Through our HALO Centres, we are increasingly developing local leadership and safer, more scalable learning models across sectors and borders. This work draws not only on our clinical training expertise, but also on our CEO’s background in systems innovation, organisational design and development. Most recently, that reach has extended further into Africa - innovation in motion.

During the afternoon, I had the pleasure of speaking with The Rt Hon Jonathan Reynolds MP, then Secretary of State for Business and Trade. We spoke about the importance of leadership, infrastructure and the right conditions for organisations like ours to grow beyond UK borders and share the best of British expertise globally.

What stayed with me most was the contrast of the day itself. While I was in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, Nolan and Gloria from our South Africa HALO Centre were in senior meetings in Central Africa. At the same time, I received a WhatsApp message from Peter McLaughlin, who has worked with us for 10 years, to say that his son had just experienced clearly sub-standard cannulation practice. It was a reminder that progress matters, but so does the work still ahead.

That is why this moment meant so much. It was not just a celebration. It was a marker of responsibility.
