We recently brought together our Halo trainer community for the Halo Accelerator Trainer Day — an invite-only event for clinicians on the Halo Taster level and above, with Premium members joining by invitation as part of their programme.

The day was exactly what a trainer development event should be: focused, practical and built around the people in the room. Getting this community together, face to face, to work through how they're implementing VeinTrain content in their own settings — that's where real change happens.

When the Tech Fails, the Trainers Shine

We'll be honest: the tech let us down on the day. For all its sophistication, it had other ideas. But that's where having a room full of agile, experienced clinicians makes all the difference. We adapted, we focused on what mattered, and the day delivered. There are elements we'll pick up in a follow-on session — and that's already in the diary.

It's also worth noting: when you've built a programme around real clinical expertise rather than slides and systems, a technology hiccup doesn't derail the day. The content, the conversation and the community held it together.

What the Halo Accelerator Gives You

For those unfamiliar with where the Accelerator sits in the Halo programme: it's included as part of the package for Halo Taster and above. It's not an add-on. It's not optional. It's part of how we make sure that every Halo trainer has what they need to actually implement and transform their sessions — not just understand the theory.

What that looks like in practice: an online half-day live session covering the theory — with proper time for questions, not just content delivery. Then a full day building how you're going to implement VeinTrain content in your own setting: how you transform your training sessions, how you use the toolkit, how you make it work for your team and your learners.

The toolkit itself is substantial. Three years of access to the online skills lab. Reporting. And something that can't be packaged neatly into a module: three decades of venepuncture and cannulation training experience, accessible to Halo members whenever we need it. That depth is what allows us to compress what would otherwise be a five-day generic course into something sharper, more relevant and more immediately usable — because the online skills lab already carries the foundational content.
